i bought this hard drive on buy.com a few months ago, and i got this random email this morning saying i had two days left to register a free domain name on godaddy.com. naturally, i immediately went there and started typing in things to see what was available. turns out pretty much every domain name possible is taken. i tried any variation of my name i could think of and some other stupid “mark waldrop” had all the sites. there’s no way that i would have chosen a .net, .me, or .info, so i had to keep looking.

theres really no reason for me to need a domain name, but i love free things, so i had to keep trying. eventually i came back to my tumblr to try to get ideas, when all of a sudden it hit me. i typed in “thesharkblog.com” and in an instant, my domain name was secured. muahahahaha!

so yeah, thesharkblog.com is all mine. i am happy.

i think that now that i have an official domain name i’m going to start actually using this blog to actually write things. sounds like a good plan to me.
